Steroids and I

I'm experiencing the steroids withdrawl symptoms since last three days. My steroid doses have been reduced and it doesnot look good. I 'm having headache, feeling weak and there is a persistent feeling of nausea. My eyes look good though. The doctor says these symptoms will go away soon. But, the problem will remain. Last two weeks were terrible.Steroid pills, steroid ointment and steroid liquid drops!

In layman's language I have what is called Chronic Neurological Disorder. Well I'm not "Mad" if thats what you thought. This disorder in me is such that whenever my body is very weak or there is any problem/sub-system down in my body, my eye nerves get affected the most- it either swells up,reddens, forms layer so the vision gets blurred and ofcourse the nagging pain. Actually, this problem started when I was about 15; only then, I was in a small town n the docs thought I just had eye problems. Every year i would had some eye complaints or the other and we would treat only the eyes. But the real diagnosis happened last year.Sometime during summer last year, I took a Brufen for my fever and within 5 mins both my eyes were like two big tomatos.I could not open my eyes for 5 days. It took 7 days of steroids dosage to completely open my eyes and another 5 days of stupid medicines for the swelling to go away fully!.It was not an eye problem per se, I had very high fever and it trigerred my eye nerves. Now, i'm off brufen too( i was already off meds that are high on sulphur ...I'm sulphur-sensitive)I also avoid sea-foods as much as possible.

The origin of my recent problem is that I have been working non-stop since mid July. I lost about 5.5 lbs in 4 weeks and i was not eating properly, so my BP dropped and my haemoglobin count dropped too to ard 6.5. So, you see anyone could have thought it was eye problem. Only it wasn't so. It was an internal body problem.

I 'm posting this blog, cause I want people to be careful when they have "just eye problem". They should take it more seriously and do a thorough check-up, so that they can undergo treatment for the actual problem. Also I want to know from others who have used steroids as a form of medicine what all side effects(if any) they faced, when using the steroids and also after using the steroids?

I will continue this blog sometime later. I'm having a really bad headache now.
