Is this love?

I can see him, although absent

I can feel him, although elsewhere

I can hear him, although silent

Is this love?

A Dance To Remember....

Sometimes the best things happen to you by accident..they say
Sometimes when you are fuming about trivial matters
Someone looks into you eyes and smile
And you catch a glimpse of paradise

Today as I was upset about the scheduling conflict
You took my hand and led me to the dance floor
When you looked me in the eyes and smiled
I found my paradise
Thats why It takes two to tango....they say

Inside I'm dancing

Gosh, can't believe that its almost 6 months since my last post! Reason- a sea of change in personal and professional life. Joined a new company just before the start of auditing season and the CEO made sure that I was spending more time with the CFO of the company than anybody else and the beauty of it all is that its a finance company. Auditing complete, provisions made, it was now time to attend to prepare for personal provisions.

Personally I think I have made quite a progress in the last one year or so in terms of being able to create the kind of life that I always dreamed about. Touch wood!

I had my dance session today. My regular partner David on a holiday, I danced with Jason. Such a darling cute boy. He can speak maybe two-three words of english- I think. Alex had to translate to him what I wanted to say to him.But when we danced it didn't matter- it was perfect. Music unifies all. He even asked me where I was from. He said, (Me Colombia, You?). When I said I was from India, He said " India! Elephants" and showed with his hands the trunk of an elephant. It was so cute.

As I was coming back to my home, it suddenly dawned on me that the dancing studio is my Little Heaven in Dubai! With fake people, fake relationship all around, this place is my piece of reality- the place where all wall of pretense fall with the first beat of clave and there is so much harmony, so much peace, so much beauty.

Long after my studio session,I'm still dancing- inside.

Love and Peace

Dubai & I- Changing co-ordinates, doing life

Its an old post from my other blog. Since its difficult to manage two blogs, I have deleted one of my blogs.
The post below is from that blog.It was posted sometime in November, 2009.

Five Springs back I came to this city with a broken heart and empty pockets.

The pockets are still empty every now and then, but my heart is there no more.

It's the property of this city called Dubai.

Some say it's an artificial city and some call it the concrete jungle.

Still, others call it selfish and vain

But, for me,

Dubai has taught me the most important thing of all----

"HOW TO DO LIFE"

And for this very reason, I dedicate this blog to this city by the sea.

Dubai, I heart You

"Its sheer ecstasy, this place was meant for me"

Sherlock Holmes - Movie Review

Yesterday, I went to watch the new movie based on my favourite fictional character (after Hercule Poirot), Sherlock Holmes. I was eagerly waiting for its release and it didn't disappoint. But I have to be honest though ...this movie doesnot have repeat value as in it is good just for a one time watch. Here's list of what I liked about it and what I didn't or what was lacking in it.

Loves:
1) Robert's potrayal of Sherlock Holmes. Though, we would forever remember Jeremy Brett as THE Sherlock Holmes, Robert does successfully create his own Sherlock Holmes.

2) The fight sequences of Sherlock Holmes..how he first imagines it in his mind and then implements it. It's a very stylised take on how a methodical detective like Holmes would definitely do before attacking his opponent.

3) The surprise for me was Jude Law's potrayal of Watson. Initially, when I came to know Law would be playing Watson, I was kind of put off by the idea, cause I didnot think, he would be able to play the role of a war veteran, mature doctor who should also have good comic timing. But after watching the movie, I'm a changed person. His Watson is bang on!

4) Chemistry between Robert and Jude's character is exactly as it should be.

5) The creation of old time London is great.

Don't Love:
1) The screenplay is pretty loose, maybe because the story itself is not very intriguing and doesnot allow the movie to be that captivating.

2) The angle of Irene Adler looks very forced into it. Her being dictated by Professor Moriarty is not convincing at all. They could have easily introduced a new female character. Also, Rachel Mcadams' Irene Adler is very light-hearted "modern" woman, not the graceful lady, who had outsmarted Sherlock Holmes, we all have come to love.Maybe the story and the screenplay is the main culprit as Mcadams is a very fine actress otherwise.

All in all I would give a solid B to this Guy Ritchie movie. You should all go watch it atleast once.
